baking cookies

just a little sweet moment I wanted to scrap - the first time Levi has helped me bake cookies....

I have been feeling very sad lately that I feel like I am always missing out on something with 2 boys so close together.... they are both so full on that it is extremely difficult to do things with both of them at the same time so it always seems like they have to take turns with my attention & I always feel like I am missing out on things with the other one.

Lately I have really missed Levi. Finn is just sooo demanding and he barely lets me put him down all day and so everything I do with Levi is done with Finn in my arms so Levi never seems to get my undivided attention anymore. Luckily he also has Geoff who he absolutely adores but unfortunately it means that he cries for up to an hour when Geoff leaves for work each morning etc... the poor little guy just wants someone to play with him and he is always asking me to put Finn down in his rocker or on a blanket... it just breaks my heart...

Finally this last couple of weeks Finn has become more content to roll around on a blanket with some toys or to sit up in his activity centre for a while and I have been able to play with Levi a lot more again... On Monday we had a tea party on the floor with some little plastic egg cups and Levi kept interrupting the game to get up and give me a cuddle then he would just sit back down again and continue playing. I wanted to cry - it was like he was just so grateful that he was getting some undivided attention for once...

So yesterday when Geoff got home I grabbed the opportunity while he was holding Finn to scoop Levi up onto the bench to make some cookies.... he had a lot of fun and we made surprisingly little mess! Of course there was also a great deal of cookie dough tasting going on but it was really nice to just hang out with my little man...
