This afternoon I was reading some birth stories in anticipation of my own to come in only 7 weeks or so. I came accross a story that was so beautiful yet so sad - about a baby born with Down Syndrome. The more the story went on the sadder it was until I was literally sobbing while reading this beautiful story. Levi (who had until this point been running riot & causing mayhem all afternoon) stopped and came up to me and said in his sweetest voice with his head tilted to one side, "why you crying Mummy?". I told him "Mummy's reading a sad story". So he thought about that for a second then said very seriously, "maybe you need to pick another story Mummy. Alright? You maybe read a different story." I burst into one of those half-crying/half-laughing sad laughs and smothered him in cuddles... He then sat with me until I had stopped crying and said "you stop crying Mummy? you all better now?". Such a sweet nature this tornado of a child has underneath. Of course one of my first thoughts was that I needed to blog this story so that I remember these moments and Levi was happy to sit for a photo to go with it. So here he is - my secretly sweet-hearted boy.

And if anyone wants to read this beautiful story - here is the link - but be warned: do not click without a box of tissues and a little person to cuddle nearby!
