One bucket list item down - messy twister!

So I found this idea on Pinterest... and though wow the boys would love that, we should try it someday, etc..... the sort of thing you say you'll do but never really follow through with... Then last on Sunday afternoon we had a couple of hours left to kill in the afternoon and I said to Geoff "I'm going to let them do it".... I think he either didn't believe me or thought I had gone crazy. But we did and I think consequently I have earned enough awesome mummy brownie points for the rest of the year!

Let me set the scene for you.... three very excited little boys stripped down to undies..... one twister game mat..... with a twist - a decent squirt of paint on each spot. Getting the mental picture? The boys just kept looking at me in disbelief like "you're seriously going to let us do this???"

needless to say they thought it was pretty hilarious once they started squelching all that paint between their fingers & toes!

Finn decided fairly quickly that he'd rather just call the colours for Levi to play twister as he wasn't too sure about the paint.... but he quickly found other ways to entertain himself:

I had also placed a board with some big strips of butchers paper so that they could periodically jump over & make some art with their colourful hand & footprints. Of course, being boys, this was quickly extended to include butt-prints.

And from there it quickly degenerated to total anarchy & full-body painting.... which of course the boys loved every minute of.

Jett's reaction was very cute - he kept looking like he was shocked that there was paint on him... very funny.... and he kept just running across the game past the other side, then turning around and running back through the middle of the others.... here's his reaction:

And a quick spray of the hose at the end and we were all done... 3 very happy little boys!
