Levi has his first official girlfriend! I'm a little torn, half feeling that scary mama bear vibe coming on & an urge to tell this girl to get her paws off my boy - he belongs to me for at least another 10-20 years... maybe 30... but I also could not stop laughing and goofy-grinning at how adorably cute they are.
She has been his closest friend for a while now and is actually kinda perfect for him. While she is very sweet and looks after him, she can also give as good as she gets and is not easily scared off! When he is in trouble she negotiates on his behalf, she doesn't mind when he gets a little silly or too rough and she helps him with organisation and in social situations.
So this morning she declared "Levi is my boyfriend!" to anyone who would listen, and she confirmed it with him several times just in case "Levi you're my boyfriend right?" and there was a quiet "yeah" every time which made me melt.
They happily posed for this photo under the playground after I had checked with her mum - I said that is a photo that needs to go in this boy's scrapbook! I asked him about it again this afternoon and he again said he is her boyfriend. I asked him if he liked her calling him that and he said "yes because I loooooooove her and she loves me!". Hehehehe.... so cute!
Her mother also let me know that last night she had been all giggly and whispering to her mum about her new boyfriend and something about how apparently they kissed behind a building at after school care!?!?! Not sure if that happened or not but wow I suddenly feel old.... not sure we're ready for this journey yet but also secretly chuffed & goofy-happy that my little boy has such a sweet little girl in his life at the moment.
