Day 4 - my moment of truth arrived. But first everybody else went quad biking in the mountains having lots of fun except Wendy who bravely stayed home with Levi, who was sick, and Asher. Since I had to meet the others for hang-gliding later in the day, I hung around town & did some shopping with Finn who was also sick & so he was sleeping a lot. But eventually the big moment arrived. The pilots had actually decided to jump off a different mountain the time and the wind was finally in the right place. The drive up the mountain though..... wow.... lets just say it was so scary that I was actually glad that I got to jump off the top instead of having to experience the drive down. So here's Leonie & I ready to be the first pair to fly. Notice Leonie is very excited but I'm wondering how to get out of it.... Plus my glamorous safety gear there looked hardly used but everybody else's looked a bit more worn - I think they had to pull out the kiddie-size one that doesn't get used very often for me. hehehe... Geoff thought my bright coloured stripey socks especially just topped off the outfit.

Liftoff! Geoff thinks this photo is hilarious the way my feet are still just dangling..... hmmm.... it was seriously only about 1 second after we left the ground - just gimme a minute..... hehehe....

Flying high:

And when it was over we were just chilling out in this unbelievably beautiful field waiting for the other brave fliers to land.

The landing was my favourite part.... coming in really fast then sliding on our stomachs..... I just cracked up laughing - it was so much fun..... here is a video clip of the last part of the flight & the landing.... hope it works so here goes....
so there you have proof for all you unbelievers out there - I really did it!

Oh that is so cool. The video was slightly terrifying but Hannah and I were both very glad you were laughing at the end. Hannah said "Oh Aunty Wiz fall over in sky". I am so proud of you!
Hey! LOVED the photo of all of us in the field! gorgeous! I want to go back, just looking at your pics! :)
Hey well done Liz! I bet you are so proud of yourself! NZ is awesome! When we were there, I did the Canyon swing in Queenstown. I was the only girl in my group and I thought I better not chicken out. It was so much fun - scary but worth it. Glad you guys are home safe and sound now though.
