Happy New Year! I snapped a few photos of the boys this morning to record how they are as at today and its crazy how much they've grown - Levi is so tall already that Jett is having to start reaching up to hold his hand. He is starting prep this year and is quite excited about it and is continually reminding us of how grown up he is. Just tonight I asked if he needed help as the shirt he was putting on was inside out. His reply: "no, 'cause remember I am 5 so I can do this stuff now". His lifelong goal is to be 28. He figures that at 28 he will be fully grown & will therefore know everything. He thinks Geoff knows everything (more than God, he tells us) and he thinks I have not finished growing up yet because I am not "as big as Daddy". He's always telling me that one day I'll be as big as Daddy - maybe when I'm 28. He was quite confused when I told him I'm actually 29 but remains convinced that one day I'll grow up big.

Jett is a real little boy now and is often the most boisterous of all 3. He climbs everywhere & gets into everything and is a little tech-magnet. Anytime a phone, a camera or a remote control or anything of the sort is left lying around he makes a beeline for it. He is still quite close with Levi which is very sweet to watch. Levi quite often goes into his room to sit with him when he wakes up until we go in to get him and sometimes even brings his bottle in for him. We are always telling both Levi & Finn to watch their actions carefully because Jett absorbs & copies everything and has a very long-lasting memory! He's still a cuddly little sook though which is nice too. He is a real little communicator & its always pretty clear what he's trying to tell us whether he knows the words or not. He's also pretty at home with telling the older boys exactly what he thinks and often puts a hand out and says "away" when they are bothering him. His other words include: Mama, Daddy, thankyou (which he says ALL the time - its really cute), bottle, bath (another favourite), bubbles, ball, bowl, face, nose, stay, woah, wow, na-na (banana), water, up, alright (when we ask him to do something), bye-byes, hello, uh-oh, row-row-row (when he wants us to sing row row row your boat), ow, poos, stop, eyes, hat, head, apple, & hey. He understands so much & picks things up very quickly. He's gonna be a handful to keep up with!
Finn is still a little shy with new people & experiences but you'd never know it at home or around friends & family. The boy can be loud when he wants to be! In fact they tell us at kindy he's become a real little leader & kids are forever asking to join in on whatever Finn is doing. He's got awesome funny ways of phrasing things and often uses the biggest number he can think of at the time as a way of rating the massiveness of things he has done. For example if he has a really long nap he will come out & say something like "I did have a one hundred and nine sleep!" whereas a shorter nap might get rated as "a sixty seven sleep". Things that he loves are "my favourite and forever" and he's still scared of loud noises and heights. His favourite hobby by far is still to kick a ball and he still does this every single day. He is still not a morning person at all & is quite grumpy for a while after a sleep. He is quite attached to his sleep & will often ask to go to bed early.
This year it will be 10 years since Geoff & I officially got together, our 3rd year in our own house, Levi's first year of school and my 30th. Who knows what other adventures life will bring? I for one, am hoping for just a little calm & peace. In a household with 3 young boys that's sure to happen sometime right? Happy New Year everybody!
